What is ambient guitar music?
Delay, Reverb and Loopers are the basis of a lot of ambient guitar music. Adding a volume pedal can do wonders for your sound in general, as well as allowing you more control over volume swells, which make a frequent appearance in ambient and atmospheric music.
How is guitar music written?
Guitar music is written on the treble clef, the upper half of the grand staff. Guitar music is transposed up one octave, meaning that what you are actually playing sounds one octave lower than what is written. Music is often transposed to make it easier to read.
How do I get a mellow guitar tone?
If ya wanna get a mellow guitar sound, start knocking the top strings with the side of your pick/nails. Or anything small and reasonably hard (hehe…). Start turning the treble knob until the clicky sound gets softer and quieter. Now do the same with the mids knob, if your amp has one.
What comes first delay or reverb?
As we discussed earlier, reverb —and sometimes delay, depending on the space—is the last thing that happens before the sound reaches your ears in a physical space, so these go last. Delaying reverb can sound muddy, so it’s usually better to have the reverb after the delay.
Do I need to read music to play guitar?
